On October 4-8, 2024 the Autumn School "Youth Empowerment: A Collaborative Forum for Equality and Inclusion" was launched by the International Law Institute, faculty of Law, TSU. This unique project happened only thanks to the invaluable support from DAAD and EU4 Dialogue. This Autumn School was a follow-up of the previous project of DAAD and EU4dialouge based on the feedback from students.
The Autumn School brought together 21 outstanding students from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The autumn school created an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone, having highly constructive impact on all subsequent stages of the project, given the diverse backgrounds of the participants.
The Autumn School launched in Tbilisi form kick-off workshop. During the kick-off workshop the audience was welcomed by DR. Giorgi Dgebuadze, Vice dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Lika Glonti, EU4 Dialouge Senior Project Manager DAAD Regional Office and Prof. Irine Kurdadze, Director of ILI, Faculty of Law, TSU.
The audience was especially privileged having as speakers the distinguished judges of European Court of Human Rights, Prof. Dr. Anja Seibert-Fohr and Prof. Dr. Lado Chanturia.
The autumn school was conducted by prominent specialists from Georgia, Greece, Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary - Dr. iur. Benedikt C. Hartzl, Dr. Kyriaki Topidi, Dr. Prof. Jürgen Pirker, associate Prof. Dr. Alessandro Bufalini, Dr. Katarzyna Zombory, Prof. Dr. Irine Kurdadze, Prof. Dr. Konstantine Korkelia, Prof. Dr. Davit Pataraia, associate prof. Dr. Eka Siradze, associate Prof, Dr. Mariam Kevlishvili, Dr. Tamar Aleksidze. All distinguished speakers underlined the importance of the dialogue between the youth of the neighbouring countries in south Caucasus.
The Autumn School continued in Likani, Borjomi and for the next 4 days, during the project students had opportunity to discuss different crucial subjects with academia. As part of this thrilling experience, participants were immersed in the vibrant multiculturalism of Akhaltsikhe, a city with a rich historical heritage, visiting Rabat, the National Museum and the Synagogue.
